Chicagoland Photographer | Chris & Sarah's Engagement Session

A while back a fellow photographer and friend Beth recommended my services to her sister Sarah. When Sarah, her mom and I met for a consultation, she told me on the spot that she wants to hire me to be their wedding photographer for their May 2017 wedding.

I am really excited because I haven't photographed a wedding in Indianapolis before. The Mavris Arts and Event Center looks like a great venue. Yay!!! But first things first, we did our engagement session around town in Crown Point a couple weeks ago. That's the first time I got to meet Chris. If you ask me he is pretty smooth, very confident and has a great sense of humor.

Chris and Sarah have great chemistry and can't you just tell they are made for each other? Looking at each other always makes them smile. While editing their pictures, my husband walked past the computer and stopped saying 'Wow, this is a good looking couple!'

Chris and I met in June 2014 at the Stacked Pickle in downtown Indianapolis at a trivia night. I constantly thought that night “Boy is this guy good looking!” and “How does he know ALL of these trivia answers?!” I was impressed. We continued to see each other a few times each week up until he accepted a job in northern Indiana that fall. Then our relationship turned to more texting, FaceTime calls, and weekend visits. This past February 2016 Chris took me to Chicago for a weekend to see a play. Little did I know that he was going to propose. We had lunch at a private members-only club on the top floor of one of the buildings on Michigan Avenue that overlooked the lake and Millennium Park. After we finished lunch, we went out onto the rooftop terrace to enjoy the view, and he got down on one knee. I was sooo surprised!

From the moment I saw her, I was entranced by her smile. I knew that I wanted to meet her, but she rebuffed my advances. But I was persistent. I asked her to join me at trivia to showcase my brilliance. As expected, she was enthralled with the incredible combination of intellect and good looks and could not resist a second date. From there our love grew culminating with a romantic rooftop proposal in Chicago.

Congratulations Chris and Sarah on your engagement and I can't wait for next May!
